ASTM A537 Class 2 is a higher yield and tensile strength carbon-manganese-silicon steel plate used in the fabrication of pressurized vessels and steel boilers. It is heat-treated using the quenched and tempered method to provide residual strength. It offers excellent toughness and weldability, suitable for medium to high-pressure applications.
