16MnCr5 is an alloyed case hardening engineering steel (EN 1.7131) with good hardenability and machinability. It is designed for parts requiring high core tensile strength (800-1100 N/mm²) and excellent wear resistance after surface treatments like carburizing, nitriding, or nitrocarburising. Commonly used in automotive and mechanical engineering for manufacturing gears, shafts, and bolts.
